Some Home remedies for smelly shoes

Here, in this blog, we will cover practical ways to prevent shoes from stinking.

Let's get straight to the point

Find out the cause

what are the reasons for bad smell? and we will cover them layers by layer.
  1. Shoes
  2. Insole
  3. Socks
  4. Our own feet

Above I have listed all the possible causes to eliminate bad odor from shoes. And Below I have covered their simple, practical DIY solutions.

There might also be questions like how to stop shoes smelling after getting wet? so I will try to answer all.

    1. Shoes

    For Wet Shoes

    • if your shoes are wet then wash them with disinfectant (Dettol, Lysol, phenyl) in a very small quantity(half bottle cap).
    • dry your shoes under the sun.

    For Dry Shoes

    • If your shoes are not wet then don't purposely wash them instead dry them under the sun or freeze them.
    • You can put black teabag overnight as it will soak the bad odor.
    • No teabags! no problem you can also use charcoal, it will do the same job.
    • don't want to experiment with them! simply buy odor removal spray products.
    • Cheapest DIY, apply deo on shoes 😉 but at your own risk.
    • If still it is stinking simply wash them as said above if you are confident that after washing the shoes its quality won't degrade.
    • And if still, they are stinking either its time to buy new shoes or explore other problems.

    2. Insole

    • The solution for the insole is very simple either wash them, then dry or freeze.
    • Or simply buy new insoles, they are very cheap.

    3. Socks

    • Might sound repetitive 😜 but still, wash them with disinfectant.
    • If still the problem persists buy socks that actually absorb sweat like woolen socks. In one study it was found that woolen socks had the best impact on foot health than cotton or acrylic socks.

    4. Your feet

    • Try to keep your feet clean, wash them. Sounds very basic but let me tell you a shocking fact that 1 out of 4 men does not wash their feet with soap. Comment down do you wash your feet regularly?
    • If your feet naturally sweat more, then apply some sweat powder. Any powder that one can apply on the body during summer can be applied to feet.

    Conclusion

If you still want a very quick fix I recommend buying new shoes. And if you are confused about which shoes to buy here is the list of top 10 men's casual shoes under 500Rs.

Would like to end this with a quote
