How to Buys Good Shoes

If you have been in that space where you bought shoes for xyz amount but after that found out that it did not last longer or the shoes are biting me. Maybe sometimes they become hot and sometimes the sole comes off. The insole may become so thin that the hard sole of shoes starts hurting you.

So In this blog, we will discuss some do's and don'ts of buying shoes "good shoes".

If you are the kind of guy who can afford some costly shoes then this blog can do no good, but if you are someone who wants the cheap but best that lasts long then read further.

Before getting into the best practices. I would like to provide you with a brief intro about the different parts of shoes.

parts of shoes
Parts of shoes

Outer Sole - The Outer part or the design part of the sole.

Mid Sole - The Middle part is also known as the wedge of the sole. It may have heels or remain flat.

Heel Collar - The outer thick border that covers the heel.

Heel Notch - The top back part of shoes, generally part of the heel collar.

Padding - It is the soft part inside the shoes maybe foam or sponge that surrounds the heel collar from inside.

Tongue - The complete part that covers the top feet and it also has some internal padding.

So enough of "Gyaan". Let's get into Do's and Dont's of buying shoes.

Do's

  • The first thing you should watch is size. It sounds very obvious but not taken much care of. Check whether your toes are touching the front part. If yes then your toes may pain.
  • Always check the insole(The inner sole of shoes). If the insole is removable then you should be aware of the thickness or quality of that sole, because once they become thin you will start getting hurt by the hard rubber that will lead to heel pain (Just like the below image).

Insole of shoes
If you see that design after wearing shoes then it may hurt your heels.

  • Check for the padding if they are present and look for the material. It should be soft cloth else by friction one may get a shoe bite. Look for the stitches around the padding. It sometimes happens the foam or sponge becomes visible.
  • Check the heel notch. Buy those shoes whose heel notch is either soft or there is some good amount of padding. Otherwise one may get a shoe bite due to friction.

Dont's

  • Avoid buying leather shoes, because low-quality leather shoes may break very fast and are brittle too.
  • Do not buy those shoes whose outer sole you feel are stuck with glue. Like there is the main outer sole and on the top of that, the designed sole is attached. It may happen that the sole will partially detach and hang. In short, the outer sole should be one unit.
  • Last but not least check the ends of the tongue, sometimes they are hard and can cause shoe bite.

I hope you got some insights on buying good shoes and common mistakes while buying shoes. Finally, I would wrap this with a quote saying...

Shoes complete me
